Where to go shopping in Paris and France - Summer Sales Edition

Summer Sales in coming! France’s summer sales in 2017 starts from 28th June 2017 until the 8th August 2017.

I tell you, the sales is really crazy sales! Typically, most of the items have great discounts. It is not some items they markup the price and they give you the discounts afterwhich.

This is because during the “The Soldes” (The Sales) period, the items on sale must be the same to those sold during non-sale periods. And the old and new prices will be indicated on the tag. This is the time where retailers get rid of their old stocks. And the discounts are great!

Tips on Summer Sales Shopping

Tip 1. Go in with an idea of what you want

First, have in mind what do you want to get before heading to the stores. For sure you will come across items with great prices, and you will be spending time on those instead of your intended shopping list. Get those that you want first.

Tip 2. Check the discount

Look at the sale price and see how much of a bargain it really is. If it is a huge discount, go for it.

If it’s just some marginal discount, you can shortlist them and see if there are better options.

Tip 3. Try new brands

This is the chance for you to try out new brands and quality at a discounted price. You been wanting to buy certain brands for some time but they are too expensive.

So this is the time to try them out at a cheaper rate and still the quality you may be after.

Tip 4. Don’t restrict yourself

More than often, summer sales also include winter stuffs. And a huge discount sometimes. So if you see a Ski Goggle at a huge discount, why not buy it now and use it during Winter time.

Tip 5. Check out the Internet

Most of the stores nowadays showcase their products online. You can check out the items online and the price discount before heading down.

Tip 6. Keep the reciepts

In some outlet centres, there is a information counter on how to claim for your tourist tax rebates. Be sure to check them out and remember to keep your purchase receipts.

Bonus Tip. Dress Light

Wear something that you can easily take off and put on in the changing room. Comparing to winter sales, summer sales is the best time to shop. You dress in shorts, and T-shirt.

Our Advice

If You are short of time in Paris, I recommend you to head for Les 4 Temps and Champs Elysées. You can do shopping at one go at the big shopping mall in Les 4 Temps. And for Champs Elysées, after shopping you can also visit Arc De Triomphe.

Of course, while doing shopping. Please be vigilant. Tourist and Shoppers are usually a prime target for pick pockets and scammers.
